A comparison between the agency "Al-Ghouri in the Mamluk era and the Bazara'a agency in the Ottoman era in Cairo" (comparative analytical study)

Abstract

The research deals with study and technical analysis of two Wikalas, each of which was established in the Islamic era, the first wikala is the Al-Ghouri, which was built in the Mamluk era, and the second is the Bazara'a wikala, which was built in the Ottoman era. The study will be a comparative historical analysis in terms of the planning and buildings attached to them, and an analysis and comparison of the style of decoration used in each of them. The names that were given to commercial establishments are also exposed, with different names according to the countries in which they appeared in the countries of the Islamic world, especially Iraq, Al Sham, Egypt and Turkey. The use of technology will also be presented in a digital display through digital glasses, to know the history of the two agencies under study as a model, to the rest of Islamic antiquities. The research problem is the following: What are the stages of the emergence and function of Wikala in the Islamic era, especially in the Mamluk and Ottoman eras, and When did Wikalas appear in Egypt? The research aims to Deduce the origins of the emergence of Wikalas in the Islamic era, especially in Egypt. A review of a model of Wikalas in the Mamluk and Ottoman eras. Analysis comparison between Wikalas in terms of decorations and architectural elements. the importance of the research is due to Study and analyze models of Wikalas in two different eras and compare them.
