Contemporary formulation of Al Moez Street furniture from the perspective of the concept of smart furniture

Abstract

Al-Moez Street is listed on the list of World Heritage Sites as an open museum of Islamic antiquities and architecture and a tourism attraction sites for tourists of different nationalities and cultures, and since the Internet and modern technology have become an integral part of our daily lives, it was necessary to find design solutions for outdoor furniture on Al-Moez Street commensurate with and keep pace with the era of technology and the concept of the Internet of Things, and here was the role of the research, which is to develop a design proposal for each of the seats, lighting units and garbage bins so that they are converted from traditional furniture to a smart point of contact and an energy platform that serves the visitors of Al-Moez Street, as it allows the use of Wi-Fi services, power outlets and USB charging, with the possibility of adding information about places and location, as Al-Moez Street contains 29 different architectural buildings , The furniture was also provided with solar cells in order to provide the necessary energy in addition to achieving the commercial profit through digital advertising spaces on the pages of the use of Wi-Fi and providing the opportunity to rent them, and we did not neglect to emphasize the identity and Islamic character of all units, where the Mamluk Islamic era was chosen with its geometric decorative units to be the source of inspiration for all designs
