Abstract

Cold foil printing, also known as cold foil printing, is a method of printing metallic foils on materials to enhance the aesthetics of the final product. Cold foil printing can be done in two ways: the old dry lamination process common in the lithography offset printing industry, or the newer and more versatile wet lamination process, most common in the manufacture of printed labels using flexographic printing. The researcher will focus on the latter type in the study and application. The researcher believes that cold foil printing is limited to solid areas only, and that the use of cold foil printing can be developed through different methods to obtain higher added value and as a security element for the prints as well. The researcher proposed, applied and printed some ideas through the work of the fourth-year students of the Secure Print Design course in the Printing, Publishing and Packaging Department at the Faculty of Applied Arts - Helwan University, in addition to the application and printing of promotional models for self-adhesive cards in cooperation with one of the printing facilities specialized in printing self-adhesive cards.
