With the increasing reliance on electrophotographic printing and its spread and reliance on it in local and global production, there are many color challenges that face it, such as printing large solid areas or printing some gradient areas, due to the nature of the ink and the technologies used in printing, but manufacturers seek to find technical solutions to these challenges in one way or another, by developing machines and adding more advanced technologies to printers. However, these solutions are expensive and sometimes not radical, so until practical solutions are reached, the design must take into account avoiding the use of elements that show these problems, or employing these elements as much as possible by the designer to achieve the best printing results that are compatible with the challenges of electrophotographic printing.
The term electrophotography is related to the possibility of reproducing images using electricity, light or a laser beam, and with this distinct use of each of them, this printing has become an independent printing method in itself and is commercially called digital printing, with its characteristics that distinguish it from other printing methods. This method uses toner (a term that refers to very small granules of particles that represent dry ink) in the photocopying process, instead of liquid ink or paste ink. Thus, the technology of working to print the file digitally depends on the use of photoreceptors, a light source, electrostatic parts and ink (toner) to produce prints.
