Abstract

Our era is witnessing a new approach in the fashion industry, where clothing is increasingly being used to address skin conditions like vitiligo. Vitiligo, now more prevalent, is linked to psychological issues such as self-hatred and can even lead to suicide. Given the crucial role, clothing plays in the psychological comfort and self-acceptance of vitiligo patients, there is a need to design garments that cater to their specific health and emotional needs. This study emphasizes the importance of preparing designers to think creatively and socially, challenging misconceptions about beauty standards and encouraging a reevaluation of design programs. The researcher used a descriptive-analytical approach to create innovative clothing designs that incorporate vitiligo as an aesthetic element, inspired by ancient Egyptian civilization, to produce contemporary designs that reflect Egyptian identity in a modern context. AI tools were also employed in the design process. The study concludes that clothing design can challenge traditional beliefs about ideal body image and beauty standards, fostering creativity and humanitarian values in students. It encourages the creation of garments that redefine beauty norms, pushing the fashion industry to a new level that celebrates diversity and reinterprets the concept of beauty. The idea was well received, as evidenced by positive evaluations of the students' work.
