Abstract

Experimentation occupies a great position woven into the formation of the creative process throughout the ages, as it is the basis for the emergence of many artistic trends in pursuit of finding new artistic visions. It is linked to the philosophy of each era, its values, and its material and intellectual tools, which provided different areas for expression. The French critic and philosopher "Marc Blow" wrote, "The truly beautiful thing is the search for a new tradition, and it is absurd to live at the same pace." The era requires the artist to raise new issues and concepts. The type of experimentation has varied according to the artist's needs, interests, and experiences, and it changes under the influence of the culture and development of the era. Experimentation is represented in thought, performance, and technique, and the nature of experimentation varies, as it is difficult to classify each type separately because all types are largely related to each other. This research addresses collage techniques in general and woven collage techniques in particular through an analysis of some artworks locally and globally in order to stand on a form of experimentation in one of the most important artistic techniques in the modern era.
