The artistic vision of the logic of nature and its role in enriching the variables of contemporary ceramic form

Abstract

The nature has been at the top of the artists’ priorities for his researches and exploration of its secrets, the modern era came with scientific and technological progress to confirm that nature has its own logic which illuminates artist's insight about many scientific facts related to natures’ elements according to its laws which had clear influence on ceramic art which led to variety of artistic visions and methods which enriched contemporary ceramic work. Accordingly, the research presents an analytical study revealing extent of distinctiveness of artistic visions of nature’s logic in works of contemporary potters and its role in enriching ceramic art’s variables. The research assumes that multiplicity of artistic visions of logic of nature has contributed for enriching variables of contemporary ceramic form. The research aims to confirm role of science in enriching the artistic visions’ source and identifying various ceramic visions based on natures’ laws also revealing the most important artistic methods used by contemporary potters.

The research follows descriptive analytical method to study the following: Concept of nature for contemporary artist and dimensions of artistic vision of nature and its role in artist’s expression. Reviewing the relationship between science and art in nature’s vision, ancient and modern, and its emphasis on nature’s unity, then the aesthetic awareness of nature’s logic and its relationship to plastic art, finally approaches for drawing inspiration from nature‘s logic in contemporary ceramics and its role in enriching variables of ceramic form.
