Abstract

The research is based on three main axes. The first axis deals with the concept of creativity, its components, and creative thinking tools, and focuses on two of them: brainstorming and morphological analysis. The second axis deals with developing a design methodology that begins with gap analysis or identifying the problem, then the idea generation stage, and focuses on analysing the cultural context of the product. Then comes the idea generation stage, in which the brainstorming methodology is applied, and a table of alternatives is designed and criteria for comparing them according to the morphological analysis methodology. Then prepare the initial model. During this, it presents applied models for the students of the Ceramic Design Studio course on the design of the Arabic coffee pot. Then the research moves in the third axis to design a model for the criteria for evaluating the creative skills of students in the Ceramic Design Studio course, focusing on evaluating the creative skills of sensitivity to problems, fluency, flexibility, focus on the goal, and weighting. The relative proportion of each skill according to the targeted learning outcomes of the course. Finally, the research presents the most important results of the methodology used, which affected the development of the design teaching process and the development of students’ creative skills.
