Abstract

Beekeeping practices encourage the revival of economic and social life in rural areas, diversifying agricultural production and providing new opportunities for both beekeepers and tourists. The research highlights the lack of development in bee tourism in Egypt, the absence of promotional and marketing activities, resulting in a lack of interest in creating an attractive tourist exhibition that generates real profits for the local community. Additionally, there is a lack of focus on the environmental impact of exhibitions. The study aims to design environmentally friendly exhibitions promoting bee tourism by understanding and analyzing the environmental design goals and principles of exhibitions, utilizing recycled environmental materials in harmony with interior design, and activating the role of plant waste in designing internal spaces. The importance of the research lies in using sustainability as a tool to build the brand. The research attempts to propose design ideas to promote bee tourism in Egypt, supporting economies based on beekeeping, through a proposed project for designing eco-friendly exhibitions for the Egyptian Honey Festival inside the Cairo International Convention Centre in Nasr City. This type of tourism becomes excellent support for rural areas in Egypt by creating new jobs in tourism services, supporting local infrastructure development, and promoting the region without the need for significant initial investments.
