Abstract

There is no doubt that the use of Arabic calligraphy in the visual and plastic arts and its relationship to the philosophy of design in mural painting. It gives it a global character, as it is one of the important topics, which are not limited to the applied side, but are based on intellectual and aesthetic principles, closely related to the course of the times and its developments in terms of technology, raw materials, and multiple and innovative technologies.

The research deals with the Arabic calligraphy, which carries the meaning of originality in terms of its connection to the roots, and its aesthetic and plastic values that distinguish it, and what is consistent with the elements of the mural work. This is to find innovative wall solutions, which the mural photographer adds to the creative richness of the internal and external architectural surfaces. Confirming all of this, the new visions of employing the Arabic calligraphy with its philosophical dimensions and aesthetic values with various techniques were used in formulating the Arabic calligraphy with innovative visual solutions.

The journey of Arabic calligraphy did not end at a specific point in time, as the muralist dealt with it throughout the different eras with various plastic philosophies and styles. With the advent of intellectual and philosophical developments and the inevitable development of the mural photographer's thought, which produced mural works bearing non-traditional philosophical and plastic visions that add to the mural painting everything that is new.
