Abstract

Television was not known in the Arab world, until it came to an electronic devices exhibition in 1956, in which the German company (Bay) displayed a television camera, along with projectors. The people and those in charge of the exhibition watched the television image on the screen, and after the end of the exhibition, the Bay Company donated its devices to the Iraqi government. It was the first nucleus of Iraqi television, the first television in the Arab world, and it received great attention from successive governments, as a means of communication between the people and the political trends that needed to build a public opinion that would adopt these trends, especially during the war. It witnessed many political events and changes that affected the course of Iraqi television. its development, Especially at the time of the American invasion of Iraq, then the broadcast was restored again through the efforts of Iraqi engineers and workers, and it returned in its modern garb, now possessing the latest equipment and devices with digital technologies that keep pace with the era in which we live, including cameras, control and surveillance rooms, lighting sources, and montage devices, as well as modern thought. For the programs presented, the research deals with these changes and developments in Iraqi television from its inception to the present day.
