The Relation between Psychological Needs for Enhance Quality of Life and Interior Design of Social Housing

Abstract

Within the growing global interest in quality of life issues, and the "Sustainable Development Strategy, Egypt's Vision 2030" put quality of life concept within its objectives, followed by many projects and initiatives that sponsor the application of this concept in various contexts. The top of those concerns is the provision of housing that is suitable for the Egyptian citizen, taking into account the specific social and cultural aspects specificity in light of his specific psychological needs for criteria that improve the quality of life inside the dwelling at the level of architectural and interior design.

In this context, the research deals with the criteria of the social and cultural environment within the framework of achieving psychological needs in order to improve the quality of life inside the home from the perspective of interior design, and the mechanisms for achieving each criterion.

Research objective:

Determine the psychological criteria for the interior design of social housing projects to achieve the quality of life of the residence.

The search problem:

The social housing projects does not meet the psychological needs associated with the interior design of the dwelling.

Research methodology:

The research follows the descriptive approach by collecting information to build the theoretical framework based on previous studies.
