Abstract

Domes are one of the best structural engineering models in Islamic architecture. The numerical analysis of Islamic domes geometry governs data sets, which are collected through a tight software structure with artificial intelligence that the design employs to achieve specific formal or intellectual purposes. Thus, the process of digital analysis of domes in Islamic architecture can produces many artistic creations. It is also possible to develop and innovate in engineering designs and come up with new results while preserving the identity of Islamic art without turning renewal or innovation into another direction outside the features of this art, where the results are based on the same original lines with diversity and starting in the resulting design lines. Which produces Islamic architecture with a new modern character. The problem of the research can be identified in the insufficiency of using digital analysis methods and parametric models in analyzing domes in Islamic architecture in the design and development of metal structures. Therefore, the study imposes that employing digital analysis of domes in Islamic architecture as a design input will lead to improving the design of metal structures in Egypt. This study aims to monitor the considerations associated with the digital analysis of the formal systems of domes in Islamic architecture as well as the development of a design methodology for the formal construction of metal structures in Egypt by employing the characteristics of digital analysis of domes in Islamic architecture. Out of the ordinary and uniqueness combine Islamic architecture and modernity.
