Abstract

Abstract Expressionism refers to works created in the late 1940s and 1950s in which artists expressed subjective feelings rather than describing an object or scene. The Abstract Expressionist movement is often associated with non-figurative artworks that are intentionally unattractive or disorganized in form, as well as works that are performed spontaneously without attention to detail or accuracy. Hence the importance of research in dealing with Abstract Expressionism with a multiplicative perspective represented by applying the principle The art of maximalism is based on some elements and units of artistic works of abstract expressionism and drawing inspiration for designs for printing women’s fabrics from this perspective. The research aims to find a relationship between abstract expressionism and the art of maximalism in designing women’s fabrics by drawing inspiration from ideas from some of the works of artists of abstract expressionism and approaching them from a multiplicative perspective. To create designs for printing women’s fabrics using an artistic analytical approach through the artistic analytical study of selected artworks by one of the pioneers of Abstract Expressionism, and an experimental approach that represents the researcher’s experiences.
