The Urbanization and its Relation to Arts of Architecture in Nubia to design Textile Printing Hangings

Abstract

This research deals with an analytical study of urbanization and Urbanism, in terms of the concept as well as the characteristics of urbanization, whether size, density or heterogeneity. And the study of the intellectual trends explaining the process of urbanization, whether the classical, and the modern ecological trend, or the trend of urban culture and its concept according to Louis Worth, in addition to its characteristics related to social and cultural changes, including values, customs, and traditions. It will discuss the relationship of this process with the cultural, economic and social characteristics of the society, as well as determining the civilizing elements for the continuation of the process of urbanization, in the Arab world in a comprehensive way, and in Egypt and specifically the countries of Nubia in particular.

In his study of Nubia, the research relies on the period of displacement and the cultural and social impact of the people of this region after they moved from their old homeland to the Kom Ombo region. And the impact of this transition on their tangible cultural heritage in their various decorations used to decorate the facades of Nubian houses in Old Nubia and New Nubia and drawing inspiration from the decorative elements of this region, specifically the decorations of the facades of Nubian houses, in creating designs suitable for making textile hangings printed with digital printing and commensurate with the spatial space in which they are placed.
