Abstract

The universe undergoes two main factors: movement and change, which represent the basic feature that governs the regularity of relationships and forms in nature. Repetition is what supports unity and centralization and appears in the alternation of movement and stillness and the repetition of the element with equal dimensions. Interior design is one of the most important means of human aesthetic expression, which is subject to various visual and sensory effects. And the principles of repetition and rhythm are considered an important design value, and this depends on the vision of the interior designer and his connection to the influential design trends in accordance with the principles of design. Rhythm exists when the designer tries to achieve unity, balance, and equality in his designs, and to express movement through the principle of repetition Using design elements such as line, shape, color, textures, etc.. Through the research study, the relationship between unity, repetition, and rhythm becomes clear, and their influence on each other, in order to reach a formal relationship of aesthetic value in interior design, in addition to clarifying the patterns of both repetition and rhythm. The research problem is summarized in the extent to which it is possible to achieve formal compatibility by relying on the principles of repetition and rhythm to enrich the design process.
