Abstract

The various approaches in the history of art in Egypt confirm continuous debate on the issues of form and context and their relation to the heritage and contemporary… innovation and imitation… inherited and derived… local and global, which no longer focus on conservation of form in the common academic terms. This happened as a result of appearance of modern scientific and philosophical theories that introduced various forms of artwork, and express western cultural decentralization in the modern era a form of which represented colonial control in the 19th -20th century which call for communication revolution to transform the world into a single village in the so-called globalization which is confronted by localization. Its arts are different in form and context with the social, doctrinal, cultural and political identity of other societies. This also helped to expand the horizons of sculpture and admission of all new and innovated things, and creation of new concepts through the form, display methods and materials.

The research sought to geometric experimental relations with aesthetic expressive dimensions by analysis of the relief works, which are meant by"abstraction that reflects the pulse of life in the nature of abstract forms, and that have their visual significance that moves in work."

Problem of the research:

- How was the researcher able to highlight the expressive dimensions of the abstract form by presenting samples of works of bas-relief sculpture with an abstract geometric approach?
