Cirigami art as a starting point for designing metal crafts to develop productive thinking for art education students

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the aesthetics of the art of Cirigami, (the art of paper cutting) and to benefit from it in creating various designs for metalwork and to achieve fluency and flexibility in designing these artifacts. In addition to finding a design entrance for art education students that relies on this art to develop their productive thinking in the field of metalworking.
In order to open various horizons for design and implementation in the world of metals and to emphasize the innovative and aesthetic aspect in the design and implementation of metalwork by publishing and unloading for art education students. While observing the students’ practical applications in the Metal Works course for the second year, the Art Education Department, the researcher found the weakness of the design aspect of some students in creating various designs designed by the student himself,.
The results of the research achieved the goal by using the kirigami method as a design premise for the metal work, and the students were able to produce a set of designs that are suitable for publication and unloading, which were characterized by diversity and differences and were implemented in various works .
